Football Game Preview: Carver Vo-Tech Bears vs. Lansdowne Vikings

The Carver Vo-Tech Bears will be playing at home against the Lansdowne Vikings at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Carver Vo-Tech will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Carver Vo-Tech's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Douglass to the tune of 40-0. Considering the Bears have won five games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Amir Ellis was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 123 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 123 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Christian Bryant did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 103 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Carver Vo-Tech's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Elijah Jones with three. Carver Vo-Tech is undefeated when Jones posts two or more sacks, but 2-3 otherwise. Another thorn in Douglass' side was Darnell Burrus, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Lansdowne played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Pikesville 50-8. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Carver Vo-Tech's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Lansdowne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Carver Vo-Tech has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 182.7 rushing yards per game.
