Football Recap: Arapahoe Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Arapahoe's offense. They came up short against the Ralston Valley Mustangs on Monday, falling 20-0. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Mustangs are ranked third).

Clara Reynolds threw for 81 yards on 13 of 30 attempts. Alexa LeDuff was her top target, picking up 50 receiving yards.

Ralston Valley had a senior duo take command as Ashlyn Callahan picked up 172 receiving yards and a pair of TDs and Kailyn Korkus threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, Callahan is now averaging an impressive 105 receiving yards per game.

This is the second loss in a row for Arapahoe and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Ralston Valley, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Arapahoe will venture away from home to take on Overland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ralston Valley, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-12 win against Valor Christian on the 23rd.
