Volleyball Recap: Head-Royce Jayhawks vs. American Canyon Wolves
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Head-Royce had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the American Canyon Wolves as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Jayhawks as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
The final score came out to 25-22, 27-25, 25-16.
Despite the loss, American Canyon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maren Espiritu had nine digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Espiritu a new career-high.
Head-Royce pushed their record up to 28-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. As for American Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season.
Head-Royce will be playing at home against Marin Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marin Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Head-Royce surely won't give up without a fight. American Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
