Bayfield came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Pagosa Springs, but Colton Lucero wouldn't allow it. The Pirates simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Wolverines 55-7 for which the team can thank Lucero, who rushed for 305 yards and five scores on only 14 carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 14 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Pagosa Springs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Lucero, Creede Dozier, Hudson Mazur, and Jonathan Baker picked up one apiece. Lucero also punched in five rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Pagosa Springs is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. The Pirates received some extra help from Zander Lefthandbull, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Pagosa Springs' victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for Bayfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
