Basketball Recap: Crestwood Knights vs. Sumter Gamecocks
Crestwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sumter Gamecocks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-39 last Thursday.
When it comes to explaining why Crestwood lost, don't look at Saniya Williams. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points. London Vaughn was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and five assists.
Sumter found their leader in freshman Araina Ross, who had 21 points and five rebounds. The match was Ross' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jailyn Williams, who posted four points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.
