Basketball Game Preview: North Brunswick Scorpions vs. East Bladen Eagles

The North Brunswick Scorpions will venture away from home to square off against the East Bladen Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Brunswick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.5 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, North Brunswick came up short against Purnell Swett and fell 59-51. The loss was the Scorpions' first of the season.

Despite their defeat, North Brunswick saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jack Baker, who went 8-for-16 en route to 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Baker is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of MJ Smith, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, East Bladen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heide Trask. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Brunswick fell to 3-1. As for East Bladen, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for North Brunswick against East Bladen when the teams last played last Thursday, as the team secured a 59-16 victory. In that game, the Scorpions amassed a halftime lead of 45-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
