Basketball Game Preview: Stone Tomcats vs. Long Beach Bearcats + Official Tickets

Stone is on a three-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Long Beach a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Stone Tomcats will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Long Beach Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Stone and George County, and George County kept the tradition alive. The Tomcats took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels on Tuesday.

Stone's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaedyn Myers, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 rebounds, and Kornae Green, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Long Beach came up short against D'Iberville on Friday, falling 48-27.

Everything came up roses for Stone against Long Beach in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, as the team secured a 58-23 win. In that matchup, the Tomcats amassed a halftime lead of 34-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
