Football Recap: Roman Catholic Piles Up the Points Against Father Judge + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roman Catholic). They blew past the Father Judge Crusaders 56-7 on Friday. The Cahillite haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Roman Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Semaj Beals, who threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Beals' passing game has become a key predictor of the Cahillite's success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Hanif Sheed helped Beals out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and one score.

Roman Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ash Roberts, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Roman Catholic's record now sits at 5-3. As for Father Judge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roman Catholic will welcome Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Friars/Pandas' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Cahillite's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Father Judge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Salle College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Explorers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
