Basketball Recap: Hooper Bay Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hooper Bay). They blew past the Alakanuk Braves 81-37 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on four straight.

Hooper Bay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Hoelscher led the charge by putting up 20 points. The dominant performance gave Hoelscher a new career-high in points. Billy Smith was another key player, posting 20 points.

Hooper Bay's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.7 points. As for Alakanuk, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Hooper Bay will face off against Cordova at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Cordova will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hooper Bay surely won't give up without a fight. Alakanuk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
