Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert vs. Glidden-Ralston

The Gilbert Tigers will square off against the Glidden-Ralston Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gilbert has three straight victories, Glidden-Ralston has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Gilbert's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Central Springs by a score of 2-0. Gilbert's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Glidden-Ralston's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Riverside on Saturday.

Gilbert pushed their record up to 10-2-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for Glidden-Ralston, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything went Gilbert's way against Glidden-Ralston in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Gilbert made off with an 8-0 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
