Baseball Recap: Osborn Continues Home Dominance on Friday

On Friday Osborn's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Denby Tars 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted against the Tars since April 9, 2021.

A Woods made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on A Joiner, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. T Brown was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.

Osborn's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Denby, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Osborn will head out on the road to square off against East English Village Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Denby, they will challenge Detroit Delta Prep Academy for Social Justice at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
