Baseball Game Preview: Silverado Hawks vs. Victor Valley Jackrabbits

The Silverado Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Victor Valley Jackrabbits at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Silverado has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Silverado had taken Barstow down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Hawks came up short against the Aztecs, falling 15-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered against the Aztecs since March 16, 2023.

Silverado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Pauling, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Micheal Bejarano also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Victor Valley scored first but ultimately less than Adelanto in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of the Saints by a score of 5-4. The Jackrabbits have struggled against the Saints recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Emilio Sbolci was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Davian Dominguez, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles and one RBI.

Victor Valley's record is now 7-14. As for Silverado, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.

Silverado beat Victor Valley 5-0 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
