Los Lunas has gone a perfect 4-0 against West Mesa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Los Lunas has three straight victories, West Mesa has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Wednesday, Los Lunas got the win against Rio Grande by a conclusive 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-22.

West Mesa had taken Atrisco Heritage Academy down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Jaguars.

West Mesa started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.

Loss or not, West Mesa got some senior leadership from Isabella Garcia and Ava Parra. Garcia had five digs and three aces, while Parra had 20 digs and three aces. Kianna Joe was another key player, getting 13 kills and two blocks.

Los Lunas' win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for West Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything went Los Lunas' way against West Mesa in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Los Lunas made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
