Volleyball Recap: Savannah Christian's Winning Streak Snapped at 11 Games

It was a good run, but Savannah Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the East Coweta Indians by a score of 2-1. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 25-21 in the first set.

Savannah Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Ella Burgstiner paced Savannah Christian's offense, picking up ten kills. Burgstiner really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 15. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Savannah Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for East Coweta, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-17.

Coming up, Savannah Christian will face off against Savannah Arts Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Coweta, they will head out to challenge Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Indians their first taste of in-conference action this season.
