Columbia was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past the Mattamuskeet Lakers 3-2. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Columbia was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 12-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 15-7.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Mattamuskeet, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Columbia is set to challenge their familiar foe Hobgood Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mattamuskeet will take on rival Ocracoke at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
