Baseball Recap: Nelson County Takes a Loss

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Nelson County was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Appomattox County Raiders. The Governors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Nelson County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was George Knight, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Nelson County's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Appomattox County, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Nelson County is set to face off against their familiar foe Dan River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Appomattox County will take on rival Chatham at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
