Baseball Game Preview: Jo Byrns Red Devils vs. Westmoreland Eagles

The Jo Byrns Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Westmoreland Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westmoreland took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Jo Byrns, who comes in off a win.

Jo Byrns took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Trousdale County by a score of 7-2.

The team relied heavily on Adam Riley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Woody, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Westmoreland's offense. They lost 10-0 to White House-Heritage on Wednesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westmoreland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Walker, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Jo Byrns has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Westmoreland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Jo Byrns came out on top in a nail-biter against Westmoreland in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
