Basketball Game Preview: Golden West Trailblazers vs. Porterville Panthers

Golden West is 1-8 against Porterville since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Golden West Trailblazers will head out to face off against the Porterville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Golden West is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They fell 44-33 to Mt. Whitney.

Meanwhile, Porterville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 54-37 fall against Redwood. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 821st, while the Rangers are ranked 361st).

Porterville's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Golden West, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-16.

Golden West came up short against Porterville in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 38-28. Can Golden West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
