Wenonah piles up the points against Fairfield

The Wenonah Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 24 points or more this season. They took their contest at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 74-34 win over Fairfield. Given Wenonah's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Fairfield is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Samarian Franklin was her usual excellent self, scoring 35 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Blanks, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.

Wenonah is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Fairfield, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-11.

Wenonah will square off against Pinson Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fairfield, they will head out on the road to face off against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. John Carroll Catholic is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
