Soccer Game Preview: Sunnyvale vs. Pinkston

Sunnyvale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Gainesville as Sunnyvale made off with a 6-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Sunnyvale, who have now won 12 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Pinkston ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Village Tech, sneaking past 3-2. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Viper Squid are ranked 652nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pinkston's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-1-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those ten contests. As for Sunnyvale, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
