Volleyball Game Preview: Canby Lancers vs. Wabasso Rabbits

Canby is a perfect 6-0 against Wabasso since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Canby is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Canby and Lakeview had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lakers last Monday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Canby took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-9, 25-15.

Jaryn Houseman and Brynn Kockelman were among the main playmakers for Canby as the former had ten digs and the latter hit 69.2% for 11 kills and 11 digs, six aces, and one block. That's the most kills Kockelman has posted over her last six contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Canby was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive matches.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Wabasso and Red Rock Central had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rabbits walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Falcons on Thursday. The Rabbits haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Canby's victory bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Wabasso, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.

Everything went Canby's way against Wabasso when the teams last played back in October of 2021, as Canby made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rabbits turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
