Softball Recap: Mcloud Has No Trouble Against Mannford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Rock Creek, McLoud was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Mannford Pirates 7-1. Considering the Redskins have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Elexias Patterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayse Higdon, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Lane, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

McLoud is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. As for Mannford, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

McLoud has already played their next matchup, a 4-2 defeat against Tecumseh on the 11th. As for Mannford, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Bristow on the 11th.
