Softball Recap: Arizona Lutheran Academy Has No Trouble Against ALA - Anthem South

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Horizon Honors, Arizona Lutheran Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the ALA - Anthem South Titans 21-4. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Delaney Humbert was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Danielle Breeden, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Arizona Lutheran Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Arizona Lutheran Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.0 runs over those games. As for ALA - Anthem South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Arizona Lutheran Academy will welcome Trivium Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. ALA - Anthem South will be paying especially close attention to the Coyotes' match: after the Coyotes faces off against the Crimson Knights, they'll take on ALA - Anthem South again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
