Basketball Game Preview: Pike County Pirates vs. Marion County Eagles + How To Watch

The Pike County Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Marion County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pike County is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Jordan: they outscored them in every quarter. The Pirates put the hurt on the Red Jackets with a sharp 55-30 win on Saturday. The Pirates pushed the score to 34-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Jackets had little chance of recovering from.

Nazarious McDowell was his usual excellent self, going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points. Those 34 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cashmere Reeves, who posted five points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Marion County posted their closest victory since January 17th on Saturday. They skirted past Randolph-Clay 61-59.

Pike County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Marion County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Pike County ended up a good deal behind Marion County in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 54-39. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
