Basketball Game Preview: Firth Cougars vs. West Side Pirates + How To Watch

The Firth Cougars will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the West Side Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Firth will be strutting in after a victory while West Side will be coming in after a defeat.

Firth will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating South Fremont, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Firth was the clear victor by a 61-36 margin over South Fremont on Thursday. Firth pushed the score to 51-25 by the end of the third, a deficit South Fremont cut but never quite recovered from.

Firth found their leader in freshman Daisha Sorensen, who posted 21 points. Baylie Mecham was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, West Side ended up a good deal behind Grace on Friday and lost 51-33. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Firth has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 58.0 points this season. As for West Side, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Firth took their victory against West Side when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 44-22 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
