Basketball Recap: Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders vs. Ritchie County Rebels

Parkersburg Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ritchie County Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-50 back in January.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leonardo DeAngelo, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Preston Randolph, who went 6-for-15 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Ritchie County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Hodges out in front who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. Hodges has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 28 times he's played. Rhett Johnson was another key player, going 7-for-16 to rack up 22 points.

Parkersburg Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Ritchie County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
