Volleyball Recap: Bishop Gorman Takes Down Ranked Punahou

Bishop Gorman is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Punahou. The Gaels skirted past the Buff n' Blue 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gaels have posted since August 14th.

Ayanna Watson paced Bishop Gorman's offense, picking up 27 kills. Watson got some help from Trinity Thompson and her 41 assists. Ellie Prindl controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Bishop Gorman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Punahou, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Bishop Gorman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Harvard-Westlake on the 20th. As for Punahou, they will head out to take on Kamehameha Kapalama at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
