Basketball Recap: Evansville Christian Eagles vs. Springs Valley Blackhawks
Evansville Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springs Valley Blackhawks. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blackhawks from their previous meeting back in March.
Springs Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Buchanan, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Buchanan has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kevin Carnes, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.
Evansville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Springs Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Looking ahead, Evansville Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Vincennes Rivet at 7:00 p.m. As for Springs Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Mitchell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
