Volleyball Recap: Blair Triumphs

Blair won the last time they faced Crete and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bears came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Blair had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Blair found their leader in freshman Addi Svehla, who had 27 digs and two aces. Those 27 digs set a new season-high mark for Svehla.

Despite the loss, Crete still got an impressive performance from Kelsey Talkington, who had nine digs and one assist.

Blair's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Crete, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Blair will welcome Gross Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Crete, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
