It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Otay Ranch had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Bakersfield Christian Eagles 10-1. The win was nothing new for Otay Ranch as they're now sitting on six straight.
Kaylin Phillips made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Phillips has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Phillips was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Victoria Resendez looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
