Recap: North Duplin Rebels vs. Lakewood Leopards
Even though the North Duplin Rebels have not done well against the Lakewood Leopards recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. North Duplin put the hurt on Lakewood with a sharp 71-48 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory North Duplin has posted since December 8, 2023.
Donavan Armwood was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Dujuan Armwood, who scored 12 points.
Several Leopards players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Williams, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Williams grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Parker Jr., who scored ten points.
North Duplin's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Lakewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
North Duplin will be playing in front of their home fans against Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to take on Hobbton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hobbton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
