Vestavia Hills had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Helena Huskies, posting a 49-19 win. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Hayden Perry was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 11 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Caroline Leyden, who put up eight points and four steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Vestavia Hills will head out to square off against Buckhorn at 6:40 p.m. on Monday. As for Helena, they will venture away from home to take on Thompson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
