Football Game Preview: West Point Green Wave vs. Vicksburg Gators + Official Tickets

The West Point Green Wave will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vicksburg Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Point is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

West Point's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Columbus. That 49 point margin sets a new team best for the Green Wave this season.

West Point found their leader in sophomore Kingston Branham, who rushed for 166 yards on only 12 carries. Those 166 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Branham.

West Point was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Vicksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 31-8 to Lanier. The game marked the Gators' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Vicksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for West Point, their record is now 10-0.

West Point strolled past Vicksburg in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 14-0. Will the Green Wave repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
