Football Recap: Ansonia Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ansonia walked away with it. They blew past the Seymour Wildcats 34-14 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Although Seymour took the loss, they still got scores from Connor Shea and Jack Moir.

The win (which was Ansonia's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.4 points over those games. As for Seymour, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Ansonia will face off against Northwest Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 7.3 points per game this season, so the Chargers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Seymour does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
