Football Recap: Perry Piles Up the Points Against Crooked Oak

Perry's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Crooked Oak Ruf-Nex 35-8. Considering the Maroons' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Andrew Kukuk had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 164 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Miner, who rushed for 101 yards on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Perry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Perry's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Crooked Oak, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Perry is set to square off against their familiar foe Chisholm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crooked Oak will challenge rival Millwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
