Preview: Western Dubuque Bobcats vs. Dubuque Senior Rams
Western Dubuque is 1-9 against Dubuque Senior since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Western Dubuque Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Dubuque Senior Rams at 7:30 p.m. Western Dubuque will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Dubuque Senior is ranked fifth).
Last Tuesday, Western Dubuque was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-51 to Liberty. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Dubuque in their matchups with Liberty: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Dubuque Senior put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Iowa City 65-46.
Western Dubuque's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dubuque Senior, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Western Dubuque ended up a good deal behind Dubuque Senior when the teams last played back in January, losing 68-49. Can Western Dubuque avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
