It was a good run, but Highland Tech unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christ the King Crusaders. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Highland Tech ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 27-29, 25-22, 25-23.

Finley Watson and Josie Searby certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Watson had 11 digs and one assist, while Searby had ten kills and eight digs. Searby has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last seven times she's played. Carsyn Redmond also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Highland Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Christ the King, they pushed their record up to 6-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Highland Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Lincolnton on the 11th. As for Christ the King, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lincoln Charter on the 11th.
