Football Game Preview: Regent Prep vs. Mounds Golden Eagles + How To Watch

Regent Prep will head out to face off against the Mounds Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Regent Prep will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Regent Prep blew Allen out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Allen got their revenge. Regent Prep fell just short of Allen by a score of 51-48. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (39), Regent Prep still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Regent Prep got top-tier performance from Brody Smith, who threw for 425 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Regent Prep is 3-1 when Smith posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Regent Prep's leading receiver Bryceton Huerta was Smith's top target yet again, picking up 77 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five matchup, Mounds brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They claimed a resounding 52-6 victory over Central. The Golden Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Regent Prep now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mounds, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Regent Prep strolled past Mounds in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 56-40. Does Regent Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
