Softball Recap: Waterbury Career Academy Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Waterbury Career Academy's offense. They came up short against the Torrington Raiders on Thursday, falling 14-0. The Spartans have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Waterbury Career Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Torrington, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-2.

Coming up, Waterbury Career Academy will head out on the road to square off against Derby at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Torrington, they will welcome Woodland Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
