Baseball Recap: Vanoss' Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Vanoss can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Wetumka Chieftains. That's more bragging rights for the Wolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gabriel McCullar made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. McCullar was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Hershel Sanders was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyler Sweet also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Vanoss hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wetumka struck out six times.

Vanoss' record now sits at 5-7. As for Wetumka, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Vanoss will head out to take on Meeker at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wetumka, they will challenge Okmulgee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
