Basketball Recap: Veritas Christian Academy's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Veritas Christian Academy's strategy against Silex on Friday. The Veritas Christian Academy Eagles blew past the Silex Owls 67-42. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-5), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading Veritas Christian Academy to victory were Lusajo Kasyupa and Titus Murrell. Kasyupa went 5 of 10 en route to 19 points along with six assists and six boards, while Murrell dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Kasyupa is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Markham, who posted 13 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Veritas Christian Academy, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Silex, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

The future could be bright for both Veritas Christian Academy and Silex: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Veritas Christian Academy will try to hand Crystal City their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Silex will try to hand Mark Twain their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
