Football Recap: Central Cabarrus Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Central Cabarrus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 39-21 bruising from the A.L. Brown Wonders. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 30-29 to the Wonders when the teams met back in March of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Central Cabarrus lost, don't look at Damonte James. Despite the final result, he rushed for 149 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and one score. James is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season.

A.L. Brown was led to victory by Lemar Grier and AJ Settles. Grier rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns, while Settles rushed for 147 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Settles really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run.

Central Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for A.L. Brown, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Central Cabarrus will take on Berry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for A.L. Brown, they will challenge Hickory Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ragin' Bulls will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
