Malibu scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Channel Islands Raiders by a score of 9-8. The defeat leaves the Sharks still looking for their first win of the season.

Sean Perl was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Tommy Cupp also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Malibu's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Channel Islands, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.

While Malibu had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
