Softball Recap: Dwight Triumphs

Dwight's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Fieldcrest Knights 17-2. The Trojans have beaten the Knights the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Dwight let Averi Jury and Mckenna Woodcock run wild. Jury went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Woodcock scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those five RBI gave Jury a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Parker, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Dwight's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coming up, Dwight will challenge Henry-Senachwine at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fieldcrest, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lexington at 4:30 p.m. on April 7.
