Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Carter Wesney and Layton Massie Lead River View to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Philadelphia, River View was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Crooksville Ceramics by a score of 69-61. That's more bragging rights for the Black Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading River View to victory were Layton Massie and Carter Wesney. Massie dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards, while Wesney went 8 of 13 on his way to 24 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Massie has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Hayden Walters, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

River View's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

River View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-43 defeat against Tri-Valley on the 10th. Crooksville has also already played their next game, a 76-65 loss against Philo on the 10th.
