Volleyball Recap: Perham Falls Despite Big Games from Addison Hackel and Maddie Kunza

If Perham was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Wadena-Deer Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Fergus Falls Otters by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their loss to the Otters from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Perham took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-6.

Maddie Kunza and Addison Hackel certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Kunza had 13 digs and three aces, while Hackel had 13 kills, seven digs, and three aces. Hackel is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

Perham now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Fergus Falls, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Perham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Barnesville on the 4th. As for Fergus Falls, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Apollo on the 4th.
