Basketball Recap: Voyageur Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Voyageur Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Central Catholic Fighting Irish 69-66. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougar's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 157th in Michigan, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 16th in Ohio).

Voyageur Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Central Catholic, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-10 record.

Voyageur Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they will take on Shawnee at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shawnee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Central Catholic likes a good challenge.
