Baseball Game Preview: Rome Wolves vs. Douglas County Tigers

Rome is a perfect 5-0 against Douglas County since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rome Wolves will face off against the Douglas County Tigers at 5:55 p.m.

Rome took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Douglas County as Rome made off with a 17-2 victory. The contest marked the Wolves' most dominant win of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on Wyatt Costlow, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brett Boden, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Costlow wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Rome kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County only managed four hits.

Rome's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Douglas County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.
