With a playoff win on the line, Ellington rose to the challenge on Friday. They beat the Berlin Redcoats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 48-38. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Ava Desmarais and Brooke Walker certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Desmarais posted 14 points and seven boards, while Walker dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Walker is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Ellington's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Berlin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season.

Ellington will take on East Catholic at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Berlin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
