Baseball Recap: Damascus Beats Clarksburg for Their Third Straight Victory

Damascus put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Clarksburg Coyotes. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ian Hyman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jake Lokos was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Mason Walter was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Damascus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Damascus' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Clarksburg, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Damascus will challenge Poolesville on Saturday. As for Clarksburg, they will face off against Northwest on Friday.
